Hello & Welcome

At Comfort Couch, we offer a calm, welcoming space where you can feel at ease to explore what truly matters to you. Our aim is to support healing at a deeper level so that past wounds no longer shape your present or limit your future. Our holistic approach to psychology recognises that emotional wellbeing is deeply connected to the mind, body, and spirit. Together, we work at a pace that feels right for you—supporting your healing journey, working with you to restore balance, build resilience, and reconnect you with your authentic self.

Learn to calm the storm within so that you can surf the waves of life.

Emotional balance is not about eliminating life’s waves but learning how to move with them. As you become more attuned to yourself, clarity can emerge—sometimes gently, sometimes suddenly—bringing moments of peace, insight, and lasting change.

Therapeutic Intervention

Every experience is unique, and therapy at Comfort Couch is always tailored to your individual needs, goals, and readiness.

We offer assessment and screening for neurodevelopmental and neurological conditions, as well as ongoing therapeutic support following assessment. Interventions are selected collaboratively and may change over person’s time as your needs evolve.

Our work is informed by a range of evidence-based psychological approaches, allowing therapy to remain flexible, responsive, and grounded in best practice.

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is one therapeutic approach that may be offered at Comfort Couch. EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that is commonly used to support individuals who have experienced trauma or distressing life events.

EMDR aims to help the brain process difficult memories in a way that feels less overwhelming, allowing emotional responses to soften over time. It does not require detailed verbal recounting of experiences and is always introduced carefully and at a pace that feels safe for you.

EMDR is not suitable for everyone, and it is not the only approach used in therapy. Your psychologist will take time to assess whether EMDR is appropriate for you and will discuss this openly so you can make an informed choice.

Our Philosophy

At Comfort Couch, we believe wellbeing is multi-layered and deeply personal. We take a holistic view of health that considers the whole person—not just symptoms or diagnoses.

Wellbeing may include:

  • Emotional and mental health

  • Physical wellbeing

  • Relationships and social connection

  • Spiritual meaning and values

  • Practical and life-stage factors

When one area of life feels strained, it can affect many others. By gently exploring these interconnected aspects, therapy can support more sustainable and compassionate change.
